Hey Guys, in this Article we are going see what is Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and how various MNCs are benefiting by them.

Every day, we Use Computers for various Tasks. We do heavy calculations…multi-tasking..editing and many other things. It can do millions of calculations in a matter of seconds. The Computer is capable of many such tasks without breaking a sweat.

But, the Computer lacks the power of Prediction and Decision Making Like Human Beings. It is just a mechanical device, thus it has no capabilities of such things. This is one of the major limitations of computer systems. No matter how efficient, fast and reliable computer systems might be but yet do not have any common sense because no full-proof algorithm has been designed to programme logic into them.

Computers lack Intelligence Quotient (IQ) as well. They are unable to see and think the actions to perform in a particular situation like Humans, unless that situation is already programmed into them. Computers are programmable to complete each and every task, however small it may be but cannot do decision-making. It involves information, knowledge, intelligence, wisdom, and ability to judge. The computer system does not have the ability to make decisions on their own because they do not possess all the essentials of decision-making.

Here, we Introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

Sometimes, when we use our browser and type anything to search, we encounter auto completion of the question with numerous options related to the questions, ever wondered how the search engine does this ??

Also, while browsing through the internet, ever wondered how and why we keep getting recommendations related to what we search or related to what something that we bought online. All this predicting is the magic of AI / ML. Sometimes the searches even predicts and displays results on the location we are currently in. the engines also autocomplete the sentences before even completely knowing half of it !!

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. As the name suggests, AI can be loosely interpreted to mean incorporating human intelligence into machines. For example, such machines can move and manipulate objects, recognize whether someone has raised the hands, or solve other problems.

On the other hand, machine learning can be loosely interpreted to mean empowering computer systems with the ability to “learn”. The intention of ML is to enable machines to learn by themselves using the provided data and make accurate predictions.

Machine learning (ML) is a subset of artificial intelligence; it’s a technique for realizing AI and a method of training algorithms such that they can learn how to make decisions.Training in machine learning entails giving a lot of data to the algorithm and allowing it to learn more about the processed information. The Machine learns from Historical data and predicts the possible future outcomes. We train / create experience for the machine.

Day-by-day Machine Learning is becoming popular among industries, and business owners have finally started to believe that it can bring a dominant change in their business’s efficiency and business strategies. ML can perform data-driven decisions increasingly making the difference between keeping up with competition or falling further behind. Machine learning can be the key to unlocking the value of corporate and customer data and enacting decisions that keep a company ahead of the competition.

Machine Learning easily identifies trends, patterns and predict outcomes. With ML, you don’t need to babysit your project every step of the way. Since it means giving machines the ability to learn, it lets them make predictions and also improve the algorithms on their own. A common example of this is anti-virus softwares; they learn to filter new threats as they are recognized. ML is also good at recognizing spam.

As the machine gain experience, they keep improving in accuracy and efficiency. This lets them make better decisions. Say you need to make a weather forecast model. As the amount of data you have keeps growing, your algorithms learn to make more accurate predictions faster.

You could be an e-tailer or a healthcare provider and make ML work for you. Where it does apply, it holds the capability to help deliver a much more personal experience to customers while also targeting the right customers.

All the world’s tech giants from Google to Amazon are in a race to become the world’s leaders in AI ML technology. These companies are AI trailblazers and embrace AI to provide next-level products and services. Due to powerful processing capabilities, ML on the cloud provide good match for these organization. For many organizations, AI / ML are used for Intelligently Acquiring Customers, handling Customer Support, Business Forecast, Hiring and Managing People, Intelligent Cybersecurity, Streamlined Manufacturing and many more. Lets see a few MNCs that use AI ML and constantly evolving by it :

Alphabet is Google’s parent company. Waymo, the company’s self-driving technology division, began as a project at Google. Today, Waymo wants to bring self-driving technology to the world to not only to move people around, but to reduce the number of crashes. Its autonomous vehicles are currently shuttling riders around California in self-driving taxis. Right now, the company can’t charge a fare and a human driver still sits behind the wheel during the pilot program. Not only did the system learn how to play 49 different Atari games, the AlphaGo program was the first to beat a professional player at the game of Go. Another AI innovation from Google is Google Duplex. Using natural language processing, an AI voice interface can make phone calls and schedule appointments on your behalf. Learn even more about how Google is incorporating artificial intelligence and machine learning into operations.

IBM has been at the forefront of artificial intelligence for years. It’s been more than 20 years since IBM’s Deep Blue computer became the first to conquer a human world chess champion. The company followed up that feat with other man vs. machine competitions, including its Watson computer winning the game show Jeopardy. The latest artificial intelligence accomplishment for IBM is Project Debater. This AI is a cognitive computing engine that competed against two professional debaters and formulated human-like arguments.

Apple, one of the world’s largest technology companies, selling consumer electronics such as iPhones and Apple Watches, as well as computer software and online services. Apple uses artificial intelligence and machine learning in products like the iPhone, where it enables the FaceID feature, or in products like the AirPods, Apple Watch, or HomePod smart speakers, where it enables the smart assistant Siri. Apple is also growing its service offering and is using AI to recommend songs on Apple Music, help you find your photo in the iCloud, or navigate to your next meeting using Maps.

SenseHawk is a California and Bengaluru-based SaaS startup that enables solar companies to manage the entire lifecycle of their solar plants, right from choosing the appropriate site to build it, to monitoring their activity on a single, dedicated platform. SenseHawk’s software uses AI to streamline and automate processes to boost productivity. At the pre-planning stage, it helps developers to analyse prospective sites for their topography and hydrology aspects to decide if it is an appropriate site. SenseHawk’s software helps in the maintenance of modules by detecting defects using AI/ML and computer vision.

Aptiv is a global technology company that provides automotive components to all 25 of the largest automotive original equipment manufacturers in the world from 126 manufacturing facilities in 44 countries. In the world of AI, Aptiv is using machine learning to perfect the sensors required to operate an autonomous vehicle. However, it’s also using sensors in regular vehicles as a way to better understand how drivers are getting distracted so that the vehicles become safer to drive. They are enabling the transition to software-defined vehicles supported by electrified and intelligently connected architectures — which will combine to power the future of mobility.

Not only is Amazon in the artificial intelligence game with its digital voice assistant, Alexa, but artificial intelligence is also part of many aspects of its business. Another innovative way Amazon uses artificial intelligence is to ship things to you before you even think about buying it. They collect a lot of data about each person’s buying habits and have such confidence in how the data they collect helps them recommend items to its customers and now predict what they need even before they need it by using predictive analytics. In a time when many brick-and-mortar stores are struggling to figure out how to stay relevant, America’s largest e-tailer offers a new convenience store concept called Amazon Go. Unlike other stores, there is no checkout required. The stores have artificial intelligence technology that tracks what items you pick up and then automatically charges you for those items through the Amazon Go app on your phone. Since there is no checkout, you bring your own bags to fill up with items, and there are cameras watching your every move to identify every item you put in your bag to ultimately charge you for it.

Chipmaker NVIDIA Corporation defines AI and ML technology as the practice of using algorithms to parse data, learn from it and then decide or predict about something in the world.

NVIDIA’s graphics processing units are used by all the major technology companies to help their servers implement machine learning services.

But the company has also used its GPUs to build semi-autonomous driving technology.

Its Drive PX Pegasus system allows vehicles to see and process the images captured by onboard cameras so that the vehicles can correctly navigate their surroundings.

Its Pegasus is already being used by more than 25 companies to develop fully autonomous robotaxis that can drive themselves.

There are countless such MNCs using AI / ML and evolving at rapid rate. Machine learning is starting to bear out its potential as a powerful tool to intelligently monitor millions of transactions in real-time.
